Where to Stay in Menton

The best area to stay in Menton is as close to the Old Town as possible. This is where you’ll find all of the top things to do, including the show-stopping yellow stairs, the sprawling marina, and the French Riviera’s most picturesque beach.
You might see the Old Town marked on the map as Vieux Menton, but if you’re struggling to locate it, just search for Rue Saint Michel. This famous pedestrianised street runs parallel to the old town and is crammed with artisanal boutiques and homemade lemonade stands.
Menton train station is located about a 15-minute walk from key points of interest like the yellow stairs, in the newer part of town. If you’re travelling the South of France by train, you might want to pick a hotel near the station.
We loved Hotel de Londres, which is just a 5-minute walk from the station, and less than 15 minutes to the Old Town.
To help you plan the ultimate trip, I’ve listed out 15 of the best hotels in Menton below, in order of distance from the Old Town.
As you can see, most of these hotels are located within a 15-minute walk of the city’s historic heart. Those that are a little further out have fantastic bus links to the centre.

As far as locations go, it’s slap bang in the centre of Menton, less than a five-minute stroll from all of the city’s star attractions.

One of the best things about this hotel was the courtyard garden. Here you’ll find sun loungers for those lazy days and a gorgeous little alfresco bar called the Limehouse.
